I.Product Introduction
Compacted asphalt mixture samples are placed in a closed space and subjected to cyclic pressure approximating the Lorentz function.This simulates the mechanism of water damage caused by car tires passing over wet asphalt mixture pavements.The obtained specimens are then subjected to subsequent related tests to evaluate the water damage of the asphalt mixture.
II.Principle
This equipment uses cyclic pressurization to provide an accelerated working condition.The test temperature is controllable,and pore water pressure can be generated in the asphalt mixture specimen.Compared with the time that asphalt mixtures are subjected to under normal temperature and conventional traffic conditions,this equipment can provide a faster external effect.This accelerated environment is designed to simulate the internal stress in the road surface when a car tire passes over a wet road surface.
The specimens inside the sealed test chamber are simultaneously subjected to three effects:immersion in water,high temperature,and cyclic pressure.This not only reduces the adhesion between asphalt and aggregate,causing damage,but also softens the asphalt,thereby reducing the cohesion within the asphalt and causing damage.
